Position OverviewOversee the Processing Department (Heat Treat, Plating, Shot Peen, and Paint) on 1st shift, managing a team of 18‑20 technicians. Responsibilities include safety, quality, delivery, efficiency, and cost control.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and develop a production team, including hiring, training, performance management, and talent development.
- Establish and measure short‑ and long‑term goals aligned with organizational strategy; motivate team members and coordinate with support groups.
- Identify and implement safety, quality, and productivity improvements; recommend actions and act independently when appropriate.
- Collaborate on capital, improvement, and new product or process projects with EHS, Quality, Materials & Processing, Manufacturing Engineering, Maintenance, and external contractors.
- Report, investigate, and implement corrective actions for safety incidents, non‑conforming products, audit findings, and equipment failures.
- Analyze manufacturing data and key performance metrics to identify trends and factors affecting performance.
- Optimize personnel and equipment usage to meet schedules and delivery commitments at the lowest cost.
- Maintain workforce efficiency through counseling, discipline, and performance feedback; create team and individual goals.
- Ensure accurate time reporting, vacation, and time‑off management; administer personnel policies.
- Provide technical assistance, instruction, and training; maintain housekeeping and safety standards to reduce injuries and lost time.
- Bachelor’s Degree with 5+ years in a manufacturing production environment, or Associate’s Degree with 8+ years in a similar setting.
- Supervisory or team‑lead experience; alternatively, engineering experience supporting manufacturing (Manufacturing Engineer, Materials & Processing Engineer, Quality Engineer).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Aerospace, defense, or similarly regulated industry experience.
- Experience with Heat Treat, Plating, Shot Peen, Paint, planning, maintenance, or machine shop environments.
- Familiarity with AS9100, ISO 9001, and FAA requirements.
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Experience with EHS best practices in manufacturing.

Torrance, CA: $90,000 – $120,000 annually
Salary Range DisclaimerThe range represents the low and high end of Moog’s salary range for this position in the given location. Actual salaries depend on location, experience, and performance. The range is one component of total compensation, which may also include annual bonuses, stock purchase plan, and region‑specific benefits.
