Assembly & Test Technician II – Torrance, CA (Onsite)
OverviewOur team at Moog’s Military Aircraft Group is looking for an Assembler Technician II on 1st shift (6:00am-2:30pm) to join them. You will report to the Assembly and Test Supervisor and work onsite in Torrance, CA. Moog’s Military Aircraft Group is a global leader in designing primary and secondary flight control actuation systems for military aircraft such as the F‑35 Lightning II and the V280 Valor.
Responsibilities- Perform precision assembly on complex production and repair actuators, adjusting or aligning through shimming and other mechanical adjustments specified by blueprint or other specification limits.
- Utilize mechanical measuring equipment such as dial indicators, calipers and indicating micrometers to obtain proper assembly‑build requirements.
- Maintain dimensional accuracy on assemblies using torque wrenches, fixtures, tooling, gauges and other measuring devices.
- Work from assembly instructions, both written and oral.
- Perform various test operations on production or repair mechanical or hydraulic actuators using necessary test equipment, fixtures and tools.
- Diagnose common test failures and recommend or perform rework to correct discrepancies.
- Hold problem units for engineering disposition.
- Ensure units are set up and tested in conformance with current revision letters and bring any abnormal condition to the Supervisor’s attention.
- Test repair models for conformance to acceptance test procedures and utilize mechanical or electronic measuring equipment to validate acceptance.
- Order parts as necessary utilizing the RUR and WDS systems.
- Document parts replaced and work performed on data sheets.
- High School diploma or GED preferred. Demonstrated ability to understand and apply all verbal, written and computer work instructions or training in English.
- Ability to perform simple addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
- Minimum 3 years of assembly experience (mechanical, hydraulic, electromechanical or electronic).
- FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certification is a plus.
- FAA Safety Sensitive position; must meet FAA’s drug and alcohol testing program requirements.
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Experience assembly in the aerospace industry.
- Experience with precision assembly and test of hydraulic, mechanical and electromechanical flight actuators.
- Experience with precision measuring equipment such as dial indicators, calipers and micrometers.
- Experience diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical components and test failures.
- Basic computer program skills (Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Possess or be able to obtain Security Clearance.

Salary Range: $28.00–36.00 per hour (Torrance, CA).
