Role Overview

This position reports to the Director of Operations and is responsible for leading the Batching and Fermenting department at our Torrance facility.

Job Duties
  • Leadership and Continuous Improvement: Lead and motivate a team of production personnel, fostering a culture of safety, continuous improvement, and teamwork. Identify and develop skills through coaching and training. Champion ownership and problem solving. Lead Lean Six Sigma initiatives to eliminate waste and reduce costs. Develop strategic plans and conduct financial analysis.
  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to safety regulations. Conduct safety audits, root‑cause analysis, and corrective actions. Oversee development of safety training programs.
  • Production Planning and Scheduling: Partner with the Director of Production Planning to develop schedules that meet demand and stay within budget. Work with procurement to maintain raw‑material flow. Manage timelines and remove bottlenecks.
  • Quality Control and Customer Satisfaction: Develop SOPs; establish and manage key operational metrics (Safety, Quality, Service, Cost, OEE, Labor Efficiency, Yield, Inventory). Lead monthly reviews, communicate trends, and develop action plans. Monitor customer feedback and drive continuous product improvement.
  • Technical Expertise and Manufacturing Excellence: Create concise technical instructions for equipment operation and maintenance. Collaborate on preventive maintenance schedules. Identify process improvements and cost‑saving initiatives. Produce KPI reports with commentary.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 5 years’ experience in beverage manufacturing operations leadership.
  • 5+ years’ experience as a Food Production Supervisor with a hands‑on management style.
  • Experience managing people and budgets.
Additional Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Food Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Track record of leading teams to high performance and continuous improvement.
  • Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and root‑cause analysis.
  • Excellent knowledge of safety regulations in beverage manufacturing.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop SOPs and training programs.
  • Strong analytical and data‑driven decision‑making skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with high‑speed bottling or canning lines.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish.
