Part Time Registered Nurse (RN)
Del Amo Behavioral Health provides a safe and compassionate environment for individuals seeking treatment for emotional, psychiatric, and addiction issues. The RN delivers safe and effective nursing care within the hospital's established policies and procedures.
Responsibilities- Organize and direct the care of patients, setting priorities and assigning skilled staff to acutely ill patients.
- Ensure staff complete assigned duties and patient care responsibilities during shifts.
- Provide thorough unit orientation to new staff.
- Act as Charge Nurse when assigned.
- Assess each patient, complete a plan of care, and formulate nursing diagnoses.
- Document patient behavior, condition, and care accurately and legibly on all assigned patients.
- Provide a concise, meaningful shift report with pertinent information.
- Follow safety procedures and apply appropriate observation levels (Q15, 1:1, etc.).
- Provide nursing care within scope of practice to meet unique patient needs.
- Encourage patient participation in milieu activities.
- Anticipate and intervene early in emergent situations.
- Intervene in complex patient care, prioritizing interventions during rapidly changing situations.

- Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
- Licensure by the California Board of Registered Nursing required.
- Clinical experience in a psychiatric setting preferred.
- 1-3 years' experience with military and behavioral health populations, preferably in an inpatient setting.
- Ability to interact positively with patients daily.
- Leadership and supervisory skills.
- Ability to work under high stress.
- Sound independent judgment based on scientific/ethical principles.
- Ability to comprehend oral and written instructions and procedures.
- Collaborative with multidisciplinary team members.
- Adaptability to varying workloads and assignments.
- Math skills for drug dosages and infusion rates.
