A NICU Nurse (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Nurse) is a registered nurse who specializes in caring for critically ill or premature newborns requiring intensive medical attention. Working in the NICU, they monitor vital signs, administer medications, manage ventilators and feeding tubes, and provide round‑the‑clock care to support the infant's growth and stability. NICU nurses also educate and support families, helping them navigate the emotional and medical challenges of having a newborn in intensive care.
With advanced training in neonatal resuscitation and critical care, NICU nurses play a crucial role in ensuring the survival and long‑term health of vulnerable infants.
