Moog's Military Aircraft Group has an immediate opening for a Final Shipping Inspector. This role requires a thorough knowledge of the systems and procedures associated with shop floor control, inspection and quality control. You will report to our Quality Engineering Manager and will have an onsite work schedule at our aerospace facility in Torrance, CA.

Tobe considered for this role, here's what you would typically bring:
High School diploma or GED preferred. Otherwise, demonstrated ability to understand and apply all verbal, written and computer work instructions or training in English, and demonstrated ability to perform simple addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
Minimum 5 years or more of experience in inspection, quality assurance or related field which should include knowledge of the FAA process as it applies to Final Shipping Inspection
Experience with documentation & record keeping
Experience interaction with internal and external customers
In accordance with strict Federal Aviation Administration (F.A.A.) regulations regarding Safety Sensitive Work (S.S.W.), employee enrollment & participation in the company's "F.A.A. Drug & Alcohol Program" is a requirement for this position
Proficient in basic computer skills (Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook) and basic database, spreadsheet, and word-processing skills
Associate's degree in Materials Management or Business
Meticulous in reviewing documentation and processes
Highly attentive to procedural and quality standards
Detail-driven approach to problem-solving and coordination
Experience working in the aerospace/defense industry
Coordinate Final Inspections:
Organize and assign inspectors to review products coming from stock rooms before shipment.Process Inspection Results:
Ensure inspected products are cleared for shipping and documentation is complete.Review Readiness:
Check paperwork, contracts, and product condition to confirm readiness for inspection and shipment.Perform final inspection the completed hardware for external visual and dimensional features such as:
Tie-wire, damage, nameplates, lead length etc.Review test data sheets for conformance to specifications, legibility, etc.
Problem Solving:
Investigate and resolve issues preventing shipments; elevate to manager when needed.Material Movement:
Track and manage product flow from stock rooms through inspection to shipping.Customer Interaction:
Handle transactional communications with customers regarding shipment status or inspection outcomes.
