Position

Quality Inspection Lead - B Shift

Responsibilities
  • Final inspection of close tolerance fasteners by the company’s internal procedures and customer requirements.
  • Maintain inspection reports and records inspection data on department-approved forms.
  • Able to use precision measuring equipment and perform detailed dimensional inspections as required.
  • Coordinate inspection activities with leads and employees in the area where work is performed.
  • Read and comprehend blueprints; determine methods of inspection as needed.
  • Inspect, adjust, and verify accuracy of gauges and measuring instruments; issue gauges to support production.
  • Review calibration certifications according to quality procedures and purchase order requirements.
  • Develop First Article inspection documents and create inspection reports per quality procedures.
  • Review final inspection documentation and assist the compliance team as needed.
  • Scan paperwork, file, perform data entry and product certification tasks; process customer returns per quality procedures and policies.
  • Attend PMRT meetings as needed to assist in dispositions of rejection tags.
  • Perform preliminary review of product rejections issued by inspectors.
  • Train less skilled employees or trainees; lead tasks across multiple inspection areas as assigned.
  • Maintain safe start by checking all machine equipment at the beginning and end of shift.
  • Lead PSM 1 meetings with all lab areas and attend PSM 2 meetings.
  • Manage daily production flow for the shift: plan production, delegate tasks and troubleshoot to prevent bottlenecks; lead projects within work areas.
  • Maintain supply inventories and order supplies as needed; delegate tasks to different inspection areas.
  • Lead daily and shift reports; submit maintenance tickets as required.
  • Provide refresher training for Inspectors; ensure proper PPE usage and identify safety concerns; contribute to safety improvements.
  • Track and store materials assigned to the department; maintain product supplies lists to avoid stockouts.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, local, and state government rules, LISI Aerospace, and HSE procedures; escalate nonconformances to management immediately.
  • Lab Technician Lead Tasks
  • Perform metallurgical and mechanical tests on in-process and final parts; manage movement of materials and finished goods.
  • Prepare metallurgical mounts (grind, cut, polish, etch); read drawings and specifications for test requirements.
  • Perform mechanical tests (tensile, shear, fatigue, torque, etc.) to verify quality requirements.
  • Verify calibration on test equipment; ensure job and material documentation is accurate.
  • Assist in raw material verification and rotate parts between departments as needed.
  • Document lab results, support data entry, and assist in shipping/receiving with stocking duties.
  • Lead safety and training for lab personnel; participate in PSM meetings and maintain equipment and supplies.
  • Gage Room Lead (Metrology Dept) Tasks
  • Manage Gage Trak system, maintain gage room controls, calibrations, and inventory of gages and test bolts.
  • Coordinate calibration scheduling (internal and external) and generate weekly reports on calibration due dates.
