Contract-to-Hire | Potential conversion after 3 months based on performance About the Opportunity
Kelly Engineering is hiring a Quality Inspector to support the incoming inspection of outsourced metal components for an established medical device manufacturer in Torrance. This position is ideal for someone with hands-on inspection experience who is comfortable reading mechanical drawings and using precision measuring equipment.
Responsibilities- Perform incoming inspections of metal components.
- Inspect parts using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision measuring tools.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and inspection requirements.
- Document inspection results and maintain accurate quality records.
- Process inspection records within an ERP system.
- Identify nonconforming materials and communicate quality concerns.
- Partner with Quality Engineers and manufacturing personnel to resolve issues.
- Verify that incoming materials meet requirements before entering production.
- At least 2 years of quality inspection experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience reading mechanical drawings and inspection specifications.
- Hands-on experience using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and similar measuring equipment.
- Excellent attention to detail and documentation skills.
- Ability to work onsite in Torrance from 6:00 AM–2:30 PM.
- Experience inspecting metal or machined components.
- ERP experience with SAP, Oracle, M3, or a similar system.
- Medical device, aerospace, or semiconductor manufacturing experience.
- Familiarity with FDA, GMP, or ISO-regulated environments.
Occasional overtime may be available.
Pay: $25.00–$26.00 per hour
