Account Executive

Overview

Employee Benefits Account Executive – Insurance Agency, Torrance, CA. Full‑time hybrid position reporting to the Vice President, responsible for managing and growing assigned client accounts within self‑funding and other benefit plans.

• Maintain and grow a portfolio of 15‑20 high‑touch client accounts.
• Conduct annual renewal, develop benefit strategies, submit RFPs, and negotiate with carriers.
• Analyze self‑funded plans, claim data, and cost‑containment measures.
• Ensure compliance with ACA, ERISA, HIPAA and other regulations.
• Lead client meetings, presentations, onboarding, and open‑enrollment events.
• Provide cross‑sell and new‑business opportunities and mentor junior staff.
• Coordinate with carriers, vendors, and internal teams; maintain accurate policy data.
• Travel up to 25% regional and occasional out‑of‑state for client meetings.
• Assist Business Development in prospecting and new‑business commissions.

• Bachelor’s degree from a four‑year college or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years of recent employee benefits experience in an independent agency.
• Active CA Life/Accident and Health Insurance Agent license.
• Proficient in MS Office, analytical and mathematical skills, detail oriented.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, strong organizational and time‑management.
• Strong leadership, decision‑making, and client‑relationship skills.
• Knowledge of self‑funded plans, PBMs, underwriting principles, and compliance.
• Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality.

Compensation: $115,000 – $150,000 base, depending on experience.
