Cable Technician (Low Voltage - Copper & Fiber)

Location:

Torrance, CA (Field-based across Southern California)

Schedule:

Monday - Friday (~6:00 AM - 6:00 PM, may vary)

Employment Type:

Contract (6 Months)

Pay Rate: $25-$32/hr + OT (1.5x)

Overview

We are hiring experienced Cable Technicians to support large-scale low voltage infrastructure projects across Southern California. This is a great opportunity to work on high-impact environments including aerospace and government-related sites, with steady hours and long-term project potential.

Key Responsibilities

+ Install, pull, terminate, and test Cat5e/Cat6 and fiber optic cabling

+ Perform troubleshooting and certification testing

+ Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and project specifications

+ Maintain clean and safe job sites

+ Collaborate with field teams to ensure timely project completion

+ Submit daily progress reports and documentation

Required Qualifications

+ 3-5+ years of low voltage cabling experience (cable technician, installer, or puller)

+ Hands-on expertise with:

+ Cat5e/Cat6 installations

+ Cable pulling, terminations, punch-downs, and testing

+ Experience working with fiber optics

+ Ability to read blueprints and follow technical instructions

+ Strong communication skills and professionalism on job sites

+ Must have:

+ Reliable vehicle (able to transport a 6' ladder)

+ Own basic cabling tools

+ Ability to:

+ Pass background check, drug screening, and fingerprinting

+ Lift up to 50 lbs and work in active field environments

Nice to Have

+ Fiber termination experience (2-3+ years preferred)

+

Experience with Fluke testers

+ Previous experience working in government or high-security environments

Work Environment

+ On-site, field-based role across Los Angeles, Orange County, Inland Empire, and surrounding areas

+ Projects include enterprise, aerospace, and government contractor sites

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $32.00/hr.
