Fleet & Heavy Equipment Mechanic

We are looking for an experienced Fleet & Heavy Equipment Mechanic in Torrance, CA to ensure the reliability, safety, and performance of our company-owned trucks and construction machinery. This hands‑on, in‑person role focuses on maintaining a dependable fleet that keeps daily field operations running smoothly. The ideal candidate is skilled in servicing heavy‑duty trucks, trailers, and construction equipment and has a strong understanding of preventative maintenance, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency.

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems on heavy trucks and construction equipment in Torrance.
• Perform preventative maintenance, routine servicing, and major repairs to ensure fleet readiness.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, service logs, and documentation.
• Prepare vehicles and equipment for daily dispatch and field operations.
• Conduct inspections in compliance with DOT, CHP, and other state safety regulations.
• Ensure fleet meets SCAQMD, CARB, and other regulatory standards.
• Service and maintain Peterbilt tractors, flatbeds, and related machinery.
• Coordinate parts ordering, inventory management, and supply tracking as needed.

• Proven experience working on heavy‑duty trucks, fleet vehicles, or construction equipment.
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills for mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
• Knowledge of commercial vehicle safety and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced, hands‑on environment.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail and a safety‑first mindset.

• Full‑time, Monday‑Friday schedule with overtime and occasional weekends as needed.
