Requirements- Valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Passenger Endorsement
- Must be able to obtain a VDDP (Vehicle Driver Disability Program) from CHP/paratransit services
Torrance
HoursFull‑time – Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm; must be flexible to work outside program hours for special events.
Compensation & Benefits- Hourly Starting Pay Rate: $22.00 per hour plus full benefits

Safely transports passengers on assigned routes in accordance with all applicable regulations and organizational policies. Operates paratransit vehicles designed to accommodate individuals with diverse mobility needs while providing courteous, professional service. Ensures passenger safety, vehicle readiness, and compliance with state and federal safety standards at all times.
Essential Functions- Transportation of passengers during assigned outings
- Ensures the health and safety of passengers by following all ESSC safety standards and California Vehicle Code policy and procedures
- Maintenance of pre-use inspection log, safety log, and daily mileage log
- Reports to supervisor promptly of any accidents, injuries, or safety violations
- Maintains a clean and safe environment for passengers
- Safely operates paratransit buses with a weight of 14,000 LBS or greater
- Transports passengers in vehicle with a capacity of 16 or more passengers
- Supports multiple sites with pre-arranged trip destinations
- Other assignments that may require the employee's expertise, knowledge, or ability
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required
- Valid CPR and First‑Aid Certifications
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Passenger Endorsement
- Compliance with CHP (California Highway Patrol) and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations
- Able to obtain a VDDP (Vehicle Driver Disability Program) from CHP/paratransit services
- 2–5 years of prior experience operating paratransit vehicles with a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of 14,000 lbs or greater is preferred
- Ability to operate vehicles with 16+ passenger capacity
- Strong working knowledge of GPS navigation
- Ability to communicate effectively, through oral and written skills, with all levels of staff and the general public
- Ability to consistently demonstrate good judgment and decision‑making skills
- Ability to properly interpret and implement all policies, procedures, and safety regulations
- Ability to lift up to 70 pounds repetitively; ability to walk, stoop, stand, kneel for extended periods; ability to push/pull wheelchairs on a variety of terrain
- Ability to obtain fingerprint clearance from Community Care Licensing (if program requires)
- Ability to pass post‑offer medical examination
