Staff Accountant

Description

Our client in Torrington, Connecticut is seeking a skilled Staff Accountant for a contract engagement. This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic organization and make an immediate impact during a period of growth.

Responsibilities:

+ Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close processes

+ Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions

+ Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis

+ Ensure accurate financial statements and compliance with GAAP

+ Collaborate with internal teams to support audits and reporting requirements

+ Maintain accounting controls and participate in process improvement initiatives

Requirements

+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

+ 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a corporate environment

+

Experience with general ledger, financial reporting, and reconciliations

+ Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (Quick Books, Net Suite, etc.)

+ Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

+ Excellent communication and ability to work independently
