We are seeking an experienced Construction Foreman to lead and self-perform site civil construction work, including sewer, water, and masonry. This is a hands‑on, field‑driven role requiring strong leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to work directly with heavy equipment and crews. The Foreman is responsible for coordinating daily activities, directing crews, and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project plans and specifications.
Projects are located throughout the state. Transportation to and from job sites is provided via company vehicle.
Responsibilities- Supervise and self‑perform site civil construction activities, including sewer, water, drainage, grading, and masonry work, to ensure projects are completed per design, budget, and schedule
- Coordinate daily operations with Project Managers, subcontractors, and others
- Plan and sequence work activities, including underground utilities and masonry installations such as foundations, curbing, flatwork, and small structures
- Look ahead and plan work for upcoming days and weeks to ensure labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors are properly staged
- Assign tasks to crew members, explain scope and expectations, and actively supervise execution of work
- Operate heavy equipment as required, including excavators, loaders, dozers, rollers, and compaction equipment
- Supervise and coordinate Equipment Operators, Truck Drivers, Laborers, and Masonry crews on the job site
- Monitor crew productivity and quality to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, safety requirements, and company standards
- Inspect work performed by staff and subcontractors to ensure conformance with project requirements
- Perform and oversee sewer and water installations, including trenching, pipe laying, connections, testing, and backfill
- Perform and oversee masonry work, including layout, formwork, placement, finishing, and curing
- Train and mentor crew members on proper construction methods, equipment operation, masonry techniques, and safety practices
- Maintain accurate daily reports, time sheets, production tracking, and required client documentation
- Identify and communicate potential issues related to site conditions, utilities, masonry sequencing, or schedule impacts to project management
- Enforce company policies, procedures, and all safety regulations
- Ensure proper care, maintenance, and operation of company equipment and tools
- Maintain a professional, cooperative, and respectful jobsite environment
- Perform additional trade and field duties as required to support project success
- 5+ years of experience in site civil construction with hands‑on experience in sewer, water, and masonry work
- Proven experience leading crews and self‑performing work as a Foreman or Lead
- Strong working knowledge of underground utilities, site layout, grading, and masonry construction
- Proficiency operating heavy equipment
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and grades
- Willingness to travel to job sites across the state in a company vehicle
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills
- Commitment to safety and quality workmanship
- Valid driver’s license required; CDL preferred but not required
