A globally prominent and rapidly growing manufacturing organization is seeking to hire a Mechanical Project Engineer / Facilities Engineer to support plant equipment, facility systems, and capital project execution within a complex manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for maintaining and improving building infrastructure, production equipment, equipment layouts, and facility-related processes while supporting safety, reliability, uptime, and operational efficiency. The Facilities Engineer will partner closely with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, outside contractors, and plant leadership to troubleshoot equipment issues, execute projects, and strengthen the overall performance of the facility.
This is a permanent, direct-hire opportunity.
- Support plant equipment and building maintenance activities, including troubleshooting, reliability improvement, facility upkeep, and technical problem solving.
- Plan, design, estimate, and execute facility and equipment-related capital projects, including equipment installations, layouts, upgrades, moves, and modifications.
- Analyze engineering proposals, process requirements, technical data, space constraints, costs, timelines, and operational needs to determine practical equipment and facility solutions.
- Oversee equipment installations, service work, and contractor activity while ensuring work is completed safely and in accordance with project requirements.
- Test newly installed machinery and equipment to confirm performance against specifications and operational expectations.
- Troubleshoot equipment and facility issues, identify root causes, and support corrective actions that minimize downtime and improve operational continuity.
- Prepare cost estimates, initiate purchases for equipment and maintenance supplies, and report on maintenance and engineering activities to management.
- Support compliance with company policies and safety regulations while helping drive a culture of accountability, communication, and continuous improvement.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities, Maintenance, or related technical field; equivalent work experience may be considered.
- 5+ years of relevant maintenance, facilities, project, or process engineering experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Hands‑on experience supporting plant equipment, facility systems, equipment installations, troubleshooting, and project execution.
- Ability to evaluate technical information, assess project feasibility, estimate costs, and make practical recommendations based on operational needs.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, leadership, contractors, and shop floor personnel.
- Working knowledge of manufacturing safety practices, contractor coordination, equipment reliability, and plant support activities.
