Are you a Solid Works expert who enjoys seeing your designs become real products? Commercial Sewing is looking for a CAD Designer / Mechanical Design Technician to create production-ready designs, improve manufacturing processes, and support engineering projects from start to finish.
This position combines engineering design, manufacturing support, and hands‑on problem solving.
Responsibilities- Create 3D CAD models, assemblies, and detailed drawings
- Apply GD&T principles and engineering standards
- Design tooling, fixtures, and manufacturing aids
- Review products for manufacturability and assembly efficiency
- Support prototype development and production implementation
- Create engineering documentation and work instructions
- Collaborate with production teams to resolve technical issues
- Maintain engineering records and revisions
- Assist with continuous improvement projects
- Associate degree or equivalent technical experience
- 5-7 years of CAD and manufacturing experience
- Advanced Solid Works skills preferred
- Understanding of mechanical design principles
- Experience in fabrication or manufacturing environments
- Strong organizational and troubleshooting abilities
- ERP systems (Epicor preferred)
- Textile or sewn products manufacturing
- Fixture design and development
- Shop tooling and fabrication
