JOB SUMMARYResponsible for accurate counting; slip sheeting, and packaging of completed jobs. Capable of constructing crates from available materials. Responsible for producing packing lists and operating various pieces of equipment. Packages finished printed materials manually or with equipment assistance maintaining customer specifications and carrier limitations by performing the following duties personally.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Maintain positive work relations with others and create and maintain a team environment.
- Obtain and sort printed product.
- Verify quantity to be packed from customer order.
- Operate and maintain packaging equipment necessary to pack merchandise.
- Wrap protective material around product.
- Assemble goods and prepare them for shipping; includes applying tapes (various), applying easels, rolling banners, gathering signage, cutting wind-slots, use of glue guns, paper drill, and various other duties.
- Cut stock with guillotine (if trained) or manually with multi-purpose knives.
- Grommet banners, signs, etc.
- Pull, trim, fold printed stock.
- Constantly watch the quality of the printed goods being prepared for shipment.
- Ensure the correct items and quantities are inserted into the packages for shipment.
- Weigh cartons and skids, label containers and skids, and deliver finished goods to the shipping department.
- Inspect materials, products, and containers at each step of the packaging process.
- Record information such as weight, time, date packaged, and carrier.
- Assemble shipping crates if necessary.
- Maintain cleanliness of work area and equipment.
- Any and all other duties that may be required.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
