The pay for this position ranges from $61,000 - $68,500.

Overview

We are currently looking for a Facility Technician to join our fast‑paced facilities team at our Torrington, CT fuel cell manufacturing facility. This position will report directly to the Facilities Supervisor and will play a key role in our daily operational readiness as well as our continued operational efficiency and capacity evolution.

Summary

The Facility Technician is responsible for performing routine and non‑routine repairs and maintenance on equipment and processes in support of our building infrastructure and manufacturing operations.

Schedule:

Monday - Friday: 07:30 am-330 pm. Hours, days and shifts may change based on operational needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of equipment supporting building assets.
  • Documents all predictive, preventative, and corrective maintenance on building assets.
  • Performs all assigned tasks in a professional manner, following all work instructions and work assignments.
  • Works to industry standard best‑practices, specifications, and regulatory codes where applicable in a safe, efficient manner.
  • Performs regular inspections of plant and process safety systems.
  • Performs other duties as required.
Qualifications

Education: HS Diploma or GED and Trade School or A.S. in Electro‑Mechanical Technology program.

Experience: In lieu of A.S./Technical School, hands‑on applicable experience (4 years minimum) in a manufacturing facilities environment will be considered.

Candidate must be knowledgeable with experience in:

  • Basic Carpentry, Plumbing, Electrical and Mechanical building systems
  • Repairing, rebuilding, maintaining, and installing facilities equipment
  • Reading and interpreting layout plans, blueprints, operating or repair manuals, schematics, and drawings
  • Machine shop tools and equipment for Electrical, plumbing, pneumatics, and hydraulics
  • Must exhibit the ability to communicate with the staff and co‑workers in a professional manner
  • Functional use of MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Physical Requirements /Working Conditions
  • Be willing to work over normal schedule as necessary in support of the business
  • Must participate in 24/7 emergency repair and on‑call support rotation
  • Physically perform work including lifting and carry a minimum of 25 lbs. routinely and up to 100 lbs. on a non‑routine basis with assisted lifting devices
  • Must be able to distinguish colors
  • Work and physically move throughout a 170,000 sq. ft. plant and on the outside grounds to perform various tasks in normal seasonal Connecticut temperatures and conditions
  • Possess the ability to work at elevated heights in appropriate equipment and operate a forklift and man‑lift
  • Work in, around, and under manufacturing equipment, working with both arms and hands simultaneously
  • Work in confined spaces
  • Be able and willing to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as designated such as safety glasses, safety shoes, hard hats, respirator, and other PPE as required
  • Must be able to effectively read, write and speak in English to ensure team communication and be able to follow written procedures
  • Must be willing to work as part of an integrated team and cross‑functionally with other departments
  • Must have, or be able to obtain, a valid driver's license and be willing to travel locally for company business
  • Must be able to support Danbury operations on an infrequent and "as needed" basis
