Job SummaryThis position performs manual and clerical shipping duties required to receive, prepare, and distribute materials, parts, and industrial equipment. The role involves constructing shipping crates, and ensuring accurate documentation for outgoing orders.
Key Responsibilities- Ship industrial equipment, parts, and materials using a forklift and/or crane as required.
- Handle heavy lumber and construct shipping crates to meet proper shipping specifications.
- Use shipping documentation such as Bills of Materials, Sales Orders, and Packing Lists to verify accuracy of shipments.
- Order and maintain shipping supplies and materials.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
- Complete all assigned tasks accurately and in a timely manner.
- Maintain a professional and customer‑friendly attitude when dealing with internal and external customers.
- Participate in year‑end inventory projects as required.
- Process shipments using online shipping systems and Fed Ex/UPS platforms.
- Be available to work additional hours when required.
- High school diploma or equivalent (technical or vocational training preferred)
- 1–2 years of experience in a shipping or warehouse position preferred
- Experience using UPS or Fed Ex online shipping systems
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to perform frequent bending, lifting, and moving of materials
- Manufacturing or production facility
- Ability to safely operate a forklift (training can be provided, but experience preferred)
- Ability to perform frequent bending, lifting, and moving of materials
- Experience operating or assisting with crane operations preferred
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
