Summary

Lead AWW 1 weekend shift sub assembly manufacturing operations responsible for producing repeatable, high-quality cell packages that support Fuel Cell Energy module builds. Ensure safety, quality, throughput, delivery, and cost objectives are achieved while maintaining standard work, process discipline, and team accountability to support a successful production ramp. Serve as the primary operations leader on the AWW 1 weekend shift, driving execution, resolving issues in real time, and ensuring effective communication and handoff to oncoming weekday leadership.

The AWW 1 Weekend Shift Sub Assembly Supervisor is a key front-line leadership role responsible for translating production goals into safe, efficient, and repeatable execution on the shop floor during weekend shift hours. This position has a direct impact on delivery performance, product quality, workforce development, and continuous improvement within a critical manufacturing value stream at Fuel Cell Energy.

Work Schedule

This position is assigned to the AWW 1 Alternate Work Week schedule. AWW 1 works Saturday and Sunday from 7:30 AM to 7:30 PM (two 12-hour day shifts). Employees must also work one additional fixed 8-hour flex shift each week, for a scheduled minimum of 32 hours. The additional shift may be scheduled on any day of the week based on operational requirements;

once established, it becomes part of the employee's regular fixed schedule and cannot be changed without advance management and HR approval. Employees must record actual start time, end time, meal periods, and all hours worked, and labor must be charged to the applicable department, cost center, work order, or project for the time actually worked, including the 8-hour flex shift.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Production

• Own daily AWW 1 weekend shift production execution for sub assembly operations, including catalyst loading, bi-polar plate stuffing, unitizing anodes and cathodes, CMM measurement, final inspection, and related in-process activities as applicable to the department
• Drive schedule attainment and on-time completion of work orders to support downstream operations and customer delivery commitments
• Manage throughput, labor utilization, scrap, rework, and equipment uptime; identify and remove bottlenecks using lean manufacturing tools and root cause problem solving
• Maintain production floor discipline through 6S, standard work, visual management, clear communication, and daily accountability for safety, quality, and output, including effective shift handoff to incoming leadership
• Directly supervise AWW 1 weekend shift sub assembly operators and coordinate daily staffing, work assignments, and labor priorities to meet production demand
• Interview candidates, assess fit for the role and team, and make recommendations or decisions on new hires in partnership with management and human resources to support staffing needs.
