Position DetailsCharlotte Hungerford Hospital is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join the established Gastroenterology Consult Service as an independent APP, offering exceptional autonomy and independence. RoleOpen to Nurse Practitioners (APRN) and Physician Assistants (PA).
Setting100% inpatient, gastroenterology.
SchedulePart‑time, weekdays only.
Call ScheduleNo call required.
Support- Dedicated support and voice for our providers through the Office of Advanced Practice directed by Sarah Clark, MBA, MHS, PA‑C, BSN, RN, System Director of Advanced Practice.
- Access to EPIC, a state‑of‑the‑art clinical and informatics technology promoting improved patient outcomes, streamlined continuity of care, and superior provider satisfaction.
- Established mentorship and orientation programs specially designed for newly hired providers and providers new to practice.
- Perform routine physical examinations and formulate medical, educational, and psychosocial plans to treat patients under established guidelines, in collaboration and/or supervision with practice physician(s).
- Consult with physicians and care team members to develop plans for further evaluation of health needs, such as referrals to other team members or specialists.
- Provide appropriate treatment for problems within the scope of the provider’s practice as designated by protocols; identify problems outside scope and refer appropriately to physician.
- Licensure:
Unrestricted State of Connecticut Medical License (or eligible). - Training: APRN (Family Nurse Practitioner) or PA.
- Experience:
1+ years’ experience in an inpatient/acute care gastroenterology or relevant setting.
