Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant- Per Diem

Hartford Health Care-GoHealth Urgent Care is seeking experienced Physician Assistants or Nurse Practitioners who have urgent care, emergency room, or high acute family medicine experience treating both adult and pediatric patients. The role involves providing a wide variety of clinical services in urgent care settings.

• Examining and treating patients
• Taking patients’ medical histories
• Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests and X‑rays
• Making diagnoses and prescribing medications
• Treating minor injuries that may require sutures, splints, or casting
• Recording progress notes for follow‑up patients
• Educating and counseling patients
• Ordering and/or carrying out therapy with patients
• Giving vaccinations, and referring patients to additional care
• Performing additional duties as assigned

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree required for Physician Assistants;
  Master’s Degree required for Nurse Practitioners
• Work Experience: One (1) year of full‑time experience in Emergency Medicine or one (1) year of Urgent Care setting experience
• Licensure: National Certification;
  Active state medical licensure
• Preferred Experience: Urgent Care or Emergency Room setting;
  Electronic Medical Records; suturing, splinting, casting, preliminary EKGs and X‑ray interpretation; treating patients ages 6 months and up in an acute care setting; strong listening, communication and customer service skills

Per Diem employees must be available to work 3 days in every 28‑day block including 1 weekend shift. Providers will work an anticipated eight (8) or twelve (12) hour shift assigned by an authorized representative.
