Torrington Distributors Inc is looking to hire a qualified Quality Control Assistant. Pay is based on experience.
Responsibilities:
- Support the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the AS9100 Quality Management System
- Ensure quality processes align with AS9100 requirements, customer flow-downs, and regulatory standards
- Assist in management review preparation, metrics tracking, and quality performance reporting
- Prepare, review, and approve AS9102 First Article Inspection (FAI) packages
- Verify FAIs meet customer, drawing, specification, and configuration requirements
- Ensure proper identification, traceability, and retention of all FAI records
- Support FAI re-accomplishment due to engineering changes or nonconformances
- SCD Compliance & Material / Leather Testing
Support compliance with SCD, material specifications, and customer requirements
Coordinate and review material and leather testing (physical, chemical, and performance testing)
Verify material certifications, test reports, and traceability to ensure conformance
Corrective & Preventive Actions (CAPA)
Support nonconformance investigations, including internal rejects and customer complaints
Perform root cause analysis using structured methods (5-Why, Fishbone, etc.)
Develop, implement, and verify effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions
Ensure compliance with AS9100 requirements for documented information and closure timelines
Kaizen Events/Operational Excellence
6S retraining
