The pay for this position ranges from $105,000–$120,000.

Security Shift Supervisor

The Security Shift Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily security operations during assigned shifts in a 24/7/365 environment. This role provides direct supervision of security personnel, ensures compliance with security policies and procedures, and serves as the primary on‑duty authority for incident response, facility protection, and personnel safety.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Supervise and direct on‑duty Fuel Cell Energy security personnel.
  • Ensure adherence to post orders, policies, and standard operating procedures.
  • Serve as primary point of contact for all security matters during the shift.
  • Respond to, assess, and manage incidents, emergencies, and alarms.
  • Prepare detailed incident and activity reports through the record management system.
  • Oversee access control, badging, and visitor management processes.
  • Monitor CCTV, alarm systems, and patrol operations.
  • Conduct routine inspections of posts, personnel, and equipment.
  • Escalate issues and communicate updates to the Security Manager.
  • Coordinate with local law enforcement and emergency services as needed.
  • Provide coaching, training, and performance feedback to security officers.
  • Conduct shift briefings and pass‑down communications.
  • Reinforce professionalism, accountability, and safety culture.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate security policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify risks and vulnerabilities and recommend corrective actions.
  • Support audits, inspections, and investigations.
  • May provide executive protection to the FCE Board, executive meetings, and other events where safety and security assistance is warranted.
  • Travel to domestic and international facilities as necessary.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, law enforcement, or a related field from an accredited institution; or 10 years of professional work‑related experience in the law enforcement/security management and/or military security/police career fields as a substitution.
  • 3 years of experience in law enforcement, military security or police, corporate security management, and work experience in a broad range of security areas including protection of personnel, risk assessment methodology, physical security, and investigations.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience with a major corporation, global Fortune 500, or technology industry preferred.
  • Certified Protection Professional (CPP) or Physical Security Professional (PSP) certifications preferred.
  • Workplace Violence and/or Business Continuity experience preferred.
  • Law enforcement experience required.
  • Experience using computer systems and software programs (PowerPoint, MS Word, Excel, MS Outlook).
  • Exceptional customer service and relationship skills; recommend alternative technical and business approaches and lead efforts to meet aggressive timelines with optimal solutions.
  • Experience in development and implementation of security policies and procedures preferred.
  • Communication and contacts within government, law enforcement, and industry trade groups preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively with customers, suppliers, and contractors to ensure effective security throughout the value chain.
  • Proven team player; able to lead as well as work independently.
  • HR‑218/LEOSA with current annual firearm qualification required.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Exhibits a strong work ethic and accountability.
  • High level of trust and integrity; ability to manage high‑level, sensitive matters requiring sound judgment and discretion.
