Social Worker for Torrington Intermediate School (Grades 4-6)

Applicants must hold or be eligible for a valid State of Connecticut teaching certificate with endorsement #071 School Social Worker.

The School Social Worker for Torrington Intermediate School orchestrates services that support the academic, social, and emotional well-being of students as they navigate the intricate labyrinth of early adolescence. This role delves into the tapestry of each student's experience, providing counseling, crisis intervention, and case management that intertwine home, school, and community supports. The social worker collaborates with families, educators, and outside agencies to address barriers to learning, ensuring that students can transcend challenges and fully engage in the mosaic of school life.

They also design and implement proactive interventions and reimagined support systems that beckon students toward resilience, growth, and success within a safe and inclusive environment.

INTERNAL TRANSFER REQUESTS:
Torrington Public Schools personnel qualified for, certified for, and interested in transferring into, the above must apply by midnight, September 11, 2026.

SALARY AND TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

Ten-month work year, 186 days. Salary Range $44,529 - $107,769 in accordance with the Torrington Education Association Collective Bargaining Agreement.
