Faculty, Full‑time, Tenure‑track, 11‑month annual renewing contract, Benefitted, FLSA Exempt. College pays up to $500 for relocation expenses.
Start Date:
August 13, 2026 (preference given to applications dated on or before 6/30/26).
Salary Hire Range: $51,477 - $62,503 annually for each 11‑month contract (actual amount depends on education and experience).
Job Summary: The Agriculture Technology Instructor is a full‑time, benefitted, tenure‑track, faculty‑categorized position whose primary responsibility is to provide high‑quality instruction in agricultural technology and related disciplines through a combination of classroom, laboratory and experiential learning environments. This position emphasizes hands‑on, applied instruction utilizing modern equipment and industry‑relevant practices that prepare students for careers in agriculture and related fields. Primary responsibilities include the development and delivery of curriculum aligned with institutional learning outcomes and industry standards;
assessment of student learning; and the integration of emerging agricultural technologies into instruction. In addition to teaching, the instructor maintains and manages laboratory spaces, equipment, and safety protocols; collaborates with faculty, staff, and industry partners; and participates in program development, recruitment, and retention initiatives. The position is on the Torrington Campus and will require regional travel.
- Instruct assigned day, evening, and/or distance classes according to degree/program curricula
- Facilitate a student‑centered positive and productive learning environment
- Coordinate, prepare, revise, and deliver curricula, syllabi, and lesson plans in classroom, hybrid, and/or online settings per degree/program outline
- Utilize the Learning Management System (Canvas) to deliver course information to students
- Advise and mentor students through their plan of study
- Maintain current and accurate records of assigned courses and students; submit grades
- Assess student learning outcomes and use the results to improve curricula
- Create new courses to meet programmatic needs; assist in meeting accreditation requirements
- Aid and participate in student recruitment and retention
- Maintain and post regular office hours; be accessible to students outside normal class time
- Remain current in discipline and area of assignment
- Serve on standing and ad‑hoc committees as assigned
- Participate in College training and operational events
- Attend and participate in graduation ceremonies
- Assist with the selection of adjunct faculty and provide for their support
- Approximate apportionment of time: 75% teaching courses in Agriculture Technology or related fields; 10% college and professional activities including committee work, assessment of student learning outcomes, and otherwise contributing to the collegiate needs of the institution; 10% advising and recruiting students; and 5% other duties as assigned
- Perform all other duties of a similar nature or level as assigned
- Bachelor's degree in Agriculture Technology, or master's degree in a related field with 18 graduate hours in the discipline being taught; degree must be from an accredited institution
- Teaching experience in discipline at a secondary level or higher
- Current and valid state‑issued Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or willingness to obtain in 3 months
- Master's degree in Agriculture or related field; degree must be from an accredited institution; must have a minimum of 18 graduate hours in the discipline being taught
- Three or more years full‑time teaching experience in discipline at secondary level or higher
- Previous instruction experience in higher education
- Background in Agriculture or related field
