Overview
Naph Care is hiring a Pharmacy Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team of medical professionals in Torrington, WY, where we manage all aspects of healthcare for the individuals who are currently incarcerated in the Wyoming Department of Corrections - Medium Correctional Facility.
As a Correctional Pharmacy Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you will work alongside correctional staff and other medical professionals to provide quality care to the individuals in residence ensuring all nursing care is performed in compliance to standards and adherence to regulations. This is a unique position where you can make a difference to this diverse population of patients with complex medical needs.
Responsibilities- Receiving written prescription or refill requests and verify that information is complete and accurate
- Assisting with the preparation and dispensing of medications, including verifying prescriptions and administering medications as prescribed
- Maintaining accurate records of medication stock, monitoring expiration dates, and assisting with ordering and receiving medications
- Gathering medication histories, clarifying medication orders with patients and healthcare providers, and providing patient education on medication usage and potential side effects
- Maintaining proper storage and security conditions for all medications
- Cleaning and maintaining all equipment and work areas, including sterilization as required
- Stocking medication carts
Experience / Requirements / Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited LPN program and valid LPN license within the State of WY
- Current Pharmacy Technician certificate/license in WY
- Must possess an active BLS/CPR Certification (AHA required)
- Strong knowledge of pharmacology, medication administration, and pharmacy operations
- Attention to detail, strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and a commitment to patient safety
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information
- Integrity, professionalism and ability to adhere to a Code of Conduct and comply with all facility(s) correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and legal requirements
- Must pass the facilitys criminal background check and drug screening
Must have the ability to stand for long periods, lift and move patients (up to 50 pounds), bend, squat, reach, push, pull, walk significant distances, and perform physically demanding tasks like CPR, all while maintaining good balance and endurance throughout a shift.
