Visitor Assistant

Salary: £12.90 per hour / 8hrs per week (April‑October), 0hrs (November‑March)

Responsibilities
  • Provide a welcoming, engaging experience for all visitors from arrival to departure.
  • Recommend English Heritage membership and on‑site attractions.
  • Maintain the site’s safety, accessibility and presentation at all times.
  • Assist with retail and shop operations within the welcome hut.
  • Help manage daily tasks across the site with one or two colleagues.
  • Work weekends and bank holidays during peak season; 8 hours per week at peak, 0 hours in winter months.
Qualifications
  • Pass a basic DBS check; offer contingent on clearance.
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service skills and a passion for people.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and bank holidays.
  • No specific history background required.
