VxRail Specialist

The first priority of the customer is to ensure the VxRail has the latest firmware updates. The resident will work with customer support to gather the requirements needed to schedule the CS team to perform the firmware updates.

The second priority is to get their environment to a stable place. CIO is looking for the resident to be a trusted advisor and assist her team with:

• Day to day operational tasks/activities
• General VMware infrastructure management knowledge:
  How to do permissions, standard VM management, licensing, and vSphere networking
• Lifecycle management for the Vx Rail
• Resident needs to ensure the customer understands the process/procedures for version and code upgrades, maintenance, firmware updates etc.
• Assist customer in optimizing the VxRail environment
• Review processes and policies (incident, capacity, performance and change management, user and backup policy) to identify areas of improvement
• Conduct knowledge transfer to address the customer team members skills and "product " gaps
• General troubleshooting/optimization - ensure the customer understands how to manage these areas once residency is completed
• Monitors, reviews, and manage backup environment to identify areas of improvement following Dell EMC best practices
