Job SummaryThe Strategic Sourcing & Procurement Specialist will support sourcing, purchasing, and supplier management functions to maintain a reliable, cost-effective, and efficient supply chain. The role partners closely with Operations, Production, Planning, Quality, and Finance to source materials, negotiate pricing, manage supplier relationships, and drive continuous improvement initiatives aligned with business objectives.
Responsibilities- Source and procure raw materials, packaging, indirect materials, and services in alignment with business requirements and production needs
- Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure quality, delivery, pricing, and service expectations are consistently met
- Support strategic sourcing initiatives, including supplier evaluations, bid processes, and cost‑saving opportunities
- Analyze market trends, pricing fluctuations, and supplier performance to support procurement strategy and decision‑making
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, contracts, and service agreements with vendors and suppliers
- Collaborate with Planning, Production, Warehouse, and Quality teams to ensure timely availability of materials and minimize operational disruptions
- Monitor inventory levels and purchasing trends to support operational efficiency and inventory optimization
- Create and manage purchase orders while ensuring accuracy and timely processing within ERP systems
- Track supplier performance metrics including on‑time delivery, quality issues, and responsiveness
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance procurement efficiency, cost control, and supplier performance
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procurement procedures, food safety standards, and regulatory requirements
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and reporting related to procurement activities and spend analysis
- Support cross‑functional projects and continuous improvement initiatives within Supply Chain and Operations
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Business Administration, Procurement, Logistics, or a related field (preferred)
- 3–5+ years of experience in procurement, sourcing, purchasing, or supply chain operations, preferably within manufacturing or CPG environments
- Experience negotiating with vendors and managing supplier relationships
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP/MRP systems
- Ability to analyze purchasing data, inventory trends, and supplier performance metrics
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across departments
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
- Knowledge of food manufacturing, FDA regulations, and supply chain best practices (preferred)
- Experience with strategic sourcing and category management initiatives
- Familiarity with inventory planning and demand forecasting concepts
- Experience working with international suppliers and logistics coordination
