Position SummaryThe Regional Director of Plant Operations is responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership over plant operations and maintenance functions across multiple skilled nursing facilities. This role ensures that all buildings, grounds, and critical systems are maintained in a safe, compliant, and cost-effective manner while supporting high-quality resident care and operational excellence.
The RDPO partners closely with facility leadership, plant operations teams, and corporate stakeholders to standardize processes, drive preventative maintenance programs, ensure regulatory compliance, and support capital planning initiatives.

- Provide regional oversight and leadership to Directors of Plant Operations and maintenance teams across assigned facilities
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, including life safety, fire safety, OSHA, and CMS requirements
- Develop, implement, and monitor preventative maintenance programs and inspection schedules
- Conduct routine facility audits and risk assessments; drive corrective action plans
- Oversee building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, generators, fire alarm, fire suppression, and medical gas systems
- Support emergency preparedness, disaster planning, and emergency response activities
- Collaborate with Operations, Nursing, and Corporate teams to prioritize repairs and capital projects
- Assist with development and management of operating and capital budgets
- Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and service agreements
- Standardize policies, procedures, and documentation related to plant operations
- Provide coaching, training, and performance management for plant operations leaders
- Participate in survey preparation, mock surveys, and plans of correction
- Minimum 5 years of progressive plant operations leadership experience, preferably in skilled nursing, healthcare, or hospital environments
- Multi-site or regional leadership experience strongly preferred
- Strong working knowledge of CMS Life Safety Code, NFPA, OSHA, and state regulatory requirements
- Demonstrated experience with preventative maintenance systems (CMMS)
- Strong project management and budgeting skills
- Ability to travel regularly within assigned region
