Overview
Full-Time Student Support Facilitator at Townsend Elementary School. Under the direction of the Building Principal, the Interventionist Para educator provides services to meet student needs and supports adherence to State rules, District policies, and the educational program requirements.
PositionFull-Time Student Support Facilitator
Townsend Elementary School
- Support the building administrator/Student Advisor with student discipline and implementation of the District Discipline program; engage in preparation for student intervention, follow the Student Code of Conduct and District discipline progress, assist with investigations, conflict resolution, and follow-up.
- Assist with data entry into the district database system by processing referrals in a timely manner, collecting behavioral data, and maintaining accurate records of student discipline.
- Organize activities by processing detention and ISS referrals, monitoring/implementing accommodations, supervising students in hallways, cafeteria, bus loading/unloading, and providing discipline learning packets for identified students.
- Demonstrate professionalism, maintain confidentiality, accept feedback, and foster an environment that supports student behavior and learning.
- Contribute as an effective team member through problem-solving, flexibility, and cooperation.
- Maintain effective oral and written communication with students and staff.
- Pursue professional development to support ongoing self-improvement.
- Implement School Board and school-based policies and procedures to uphold school regulations.
- Assume other responsibilities as assigned by the Principal and/or Supervisor of Student Services.
- State of Delaware Para educator Permit required.
- Ability to work cooperatively with teachers, students, and administrators.
- Experience in working with students of varying abilities.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and computer skills.
- Criminal background check and Tuberculin testing.
The position may require frequent bending, walking, running, and lifting up to 50 pounds. May require moving wheelchairs, assisting with toileting, feeding and daily living activities; assist with self-care plans; support students in walking, eating, kneeling, and working on the floor; and assist with physically aggressive behaviors.
Physical and Environmental ConditionsWork is typically performed in a school environment and may require movement around the school and classroom.
Pre-Employment Requirements- Criminal background check and tuberculosis test are required.
