- Performs complex electronic pre‑press functions using a computer to prepare orders for printing.
- Utilizes graphic arts software to complete duties and prepares orders for print.
- Receives, prints, and sorts incoming electronic standard and custom orders.
- Locates and pulls archived proof sheets and matches them to incoming orders.
- Locates electronic order files and aligns them to appropriate art templates, making minor adjustments as needed.
- Outputs electronic files to plate‑making equipment, grouping orders by stock, ink, color, and quantity to ensure printing efficiency.
- Prints proof of electronic files and files for future orders.
- Replenishes chemicals and plate materials as needed.
- Troubleshoots plate‑making equipment, escalating complex issues as necessary.
- At least 18 years of age.
- High School diploma or GED.
- Two years of prior experience in pre‑press.
- Additional training in graphic arts or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of graphic arts software (Adobe Illustrator).
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills.
- Associate’s degree in graphic arts.
- Prior experience manipulating and organizing electronic files.
- Experience with graphic arts programs such as Freehand or Adobe Illustrator.
- Experience on MAC computers.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
The compensation range for this position is $22.00 - $23.00 hourly. The base pay offered will vary with job‑related knowledge, skills, experience, and location, and may include commission or an annual performance incentive plan.
