The middle school teacher is responsible for instruction, curriculum development, and extended classroom activities in the science subject for assigned grade levels.

• Provide science instruction following the curriculum map and schedule.
• Plan and prepare units, daily lesson plans, and class projects; give feedback to students and grade assignments promptly.
• Collaborate with other teachers on cross‑curricular opportunities.
• Communicate regularly with parents about schedule, assignments, events, and individual student needs; conduct scheduled parent conferences.
• Maintain grades and curriculum assessments online.
• Attend faculty and curriculum meetings as needed.
• Integrate new skills and technology as instructional practices evolve.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Principal.

Master’s Degree preferred; Bachelor’s Degree in the area of study required with at least five years of teaching experience, preferably in a middle‑school setting.

Valid Massachusetts Teaching License with certification for grades 5‑8.

Ability to apply current research and theory to the instructional program; plan and implement lessons aligned with district objectives and student needs; demonstrate leadership, initiative, collaboration, and independent thinking. Strong people skills and emotional intelligence for working with students, peers, and parents. Proficiency in oral and written communication.

The role requires frequent standing, talking, walking, occasional lifting up to 10 pounds, and interaction with students and staff in a moderate to loud classroom setting. Reasonable accommodations may be made for disabilities.

Salary: $60,426 to $109,348 per year
