Position: High School 1:1 Paraprofessional - 26-27
Essential Functions:

Primary duties include:
Provide individual student support that includes prompting, modeling and reinforcing social interactions, and expected behaviors throughout the school day
Oversee independent/guided practice
Assist teachers with engaging student in learning and assist in instruction
Modify or adapt instruction for student, as directed by the teacher
Guide independent study, enrichment work, and remedial work with student as set up and assigned by the teacher
Implement behavior plan
Collect data on student's IEP benchmarks (e.g. attending, responding, play, initiating, behavior data)
Communicate observations, student needs, concerns to BCBA/classroom teacher/case manager
Complete all required documentation related to incidents and discipline, etc.
Facilitate positive relationships and engagements with peers
Maintain student confidentiality
Willing to be trained in non-violent crisis prevention intervention strategies and techniques and demonstrate competency in the ability to implement
Carry out other relative assignments designated by the Principal or the Assistant Principal

Required Skills, Experience and

Competencies:

High school degree or equivalent
Enjoys working with children and is dedicated to the education of all children
Exemplifies the core values of North Middlesex Regional School District
Academic knowledge of the curriculum of the grade level supported
Strong verbal and nonverbal communication skills
Ability to take feedback, seek feedback, interact and communicate with a variety of staff
Implement behavior plans
Experience working with children and adolescents with significant social/emotional/behavioral disorder(s)
