The Toolroom Maintenance Manager manages the maintenance, repair, and modification of plastic injection molds, ensuring high-quality, efficient tool performance and minimal production downtime. They coordinate Preventive Maintenance (PM) schedules, troubleshoot tooling issues, and enforce strict safety standards within the tool shop. This is an 8-hour position that pays between $105-$120K annually ·
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Plans and supervises all activities in the department.
- Trains employees; plans, assigns, and directs work and addresses issues and resolves problems.
- Oversees the inspection of molds and the cleaning, disassembling, polishing, and assembling molds when necessary.
- Oversees the construction of fixtures, polishing of molds, tooling, accessories including cylinders, DME’s, cams, etc.
- Coordinates inspection and maintenance of cranes and chains by outside vendor annually.
- Able to work closely with other Department Managers and Supervisors to solve problems and provide solutions with mold issues.
- Discuss mold changes and improvements with Engineering Manager.
- Coordinates outside work by vendors.
- Responsible for purchasing of hardware and components with approved vendors.
- Reports and investigates all accidents and incidents. Will be required to complete accident and incident reports in a timely manner and submits to Human Resources.
- Ensures that all employees are properly trained
- Utilizes HRIS/UKG, Mold Management System, Upkeep CMMS, and Coupa.
- Maintains a fair, firm, and friendly work environment .
- Experience:
a minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience as well as mold-making, maintenance, and repair. - Technical Knowledge:
Understanding of mold design, mold components and machining processes. - Leadership:
Strong team management, communication, and problem-solving abilities. - Tooling and mold maintenance background.
