Position: The Ivy Bookshop at Kenilworth - Site Coordinator

Overview

The Kenilworth Site Coordinator is a full-time senior coordinator position at The Ivy Bookshop.

In this role, you will be anchored at The Ivy Bookshop at The Shops at Kenilworth, providing vision and oversight for that physical location. Kenilworth serves as a hub for administration and correspondence for the organization, so you will be a key participant in the store’s administrative team.

Across all its locations, The Ivy is dedicated to books, Baltimore, and community. We’re committed to local life, and view books as tools of human connection. Over the past few years, The Shops at Kenilworth has been mindfully revitalizing its mall with local businesses. The Ivy is delighted to be a part of this project, which is a collaborative “third place” for the Towson community.

Adjacent to the mall food court, and with a spacious layout for browsing and sitting, The Ivy at Kenilworth is a hub for caregivers and children, teenagers, retirees, and those looking for a gathering space to browse, chat, play, and linger.

Role Description

This role stewards 2 key areas of Operations at The Ivy Bookshop:

  • The physical space at The Ivy at Kenilworth
  • The administrative infrastructure that facilitates the Ivy being present in many ways across Baltimore

Success in this role will rely on skills such as:
Data and information organization, correspondence, email inbox management, clerical tasks, ordering and invoicing, and independent systems management.

A strong candidate will understand the role of administrative systems in the sustainability of local businesses, and have the ability to move between administrative tasks and in‑person interactions in the store.

Regular collaboration with the Business Manager and External Relations Manager will support this role in an ongoing way, and there is potential for the role to evolve including in the areas of event planning and institutional partnerships.
