We are seeking an Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager requires a manufacturing background
. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing all safety and environmental programs at the facility. This role ensures regulatory compliance, drives a culture of safety excellence, and minimizes risk to employees, the community, and the environment.
- Regulatory Compliance — Maintain compliance with OSHA, EPA, state, andlocal regulations. Serve as the primary liaison during regulatory inspections and audits.
- Program Development — Design and implement EHS policies, procedures, and training programs covering hazard communication, lockout/tagout, confined space, PPE, emergency response, and environmental management.
- Incident Management — Lead investigations for accidents, near-misses, and environmental releases. Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
- Risk Assessment — Perform job hazard analyses, industrial hygiene monitoring, and facility audits to identify and mitigate risks.
- Training — Develop and deliver safety training for all employees, contractors, and visitors. Ensure training records are current and audit-ready. Environmental Stewardship — Manage permits (air, water, waste), waste disposal, spill prevention, and sustainability initiatives. Metrics & Reporting — Track leading and lagging safety indicators (TRIR, DART, near-miss frequency). Prepare reports for leadership and regulatory agencies.
- Emergency Preparedness — Maintain and test emergency response plans, coordinate drills, and manage relationships with local emergency services.
- Continuous Improvement — Champion behavior-based safety programs and foster employee engagement in safety initiatives.
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of EH&S experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Working knowledge of OSHA regulations (29 CFR 1910), EPA standards, and state environmental requirements
- Experience managing permits, audits, and regulatory reporting
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- CSP, CIH, CHMM, or similar professional certification
- Experience with ISO 14001 or ISO 45001 management systems
- Familiarity with PSM/RMP programs (if applicable to facility)
- Primarily on-site at an industrial facility; exposure to manufacturing floor, noise, and varying temperatures Occasional travel for training, audits, or corporate meetings
- Must be available for emergency response as needed
