Job Summary:
The Division of Clinical and Administrative Sciences in the College of Pharmacy at Xavier University of Louisiana invites applicants for a tenure-track Associate/Full Clinical Professor of Community Engagement and Cancer Health Disparities. The ideal candidate will hold a MD, Pharm
D, or PhD in Public Health, Epidemiology, or related field. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced scholar-practitioner with a strong record of research, teaching, and service focused on community engagement, social justice, and public service in areas relevant to cancer and cancer prevention.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated a commitment to community-centered scholarship, the ability to work collaboratively with diverse communities, and a passion for preparing students to be effective and ethical community leaders. Xavier University of Louisiana (XULA) is dedicated to diversity, equity, and inclusion and is especially interested in candidates who have experience working with individuals and students from diverse backgrounds, reducing barriers, and promoting equity in healthcare.
The candidate will be part of a multi-institutional, collaborative research environment as a member of the Louisiana Cancer Research Center (LCRC). This partnership includes Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center, Tulane University, and Ochsner Health System, working together toward obtaining National Cancer Institute (NCI) Cancer Center designation. As a faculty member, the successful candidate will have access to core facilities across the campuses of each partner institution, including those at Xavier University (XULA).
This position offers an exciting opportunity for a highly qualified and motivated candidate to contribute to cutting-edge research in community engagement and population health while working within a collaborative, interdisciplinary environment.
Through XULA and the LCRC, this position offers an attractive and competitive three-year start-up package, with 80% dedicated to research, along with a competitive salary. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to work with members of XULA’s Research Center at Minority Institutions (RCMI), the Center for Minority Health and Health Disparities Research and Education (CMHDRE), and the Health and Wellness Center (HCW).
