Position
Assistant Teaching Professor – 2 positions, full‑time, non‑tenure track, 9‑month appointments. Preferred start date:
August 2026.
Department:
Mathematics, Jess and Mildred Fisher College of Science and Mathematics, Towson University.
- Master’s or doctoral degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Mathematics Education, or equivalent.
- Commitment to excellence and innovation in teaching.
- Preferred: prior experience teaching Introductory Statistics, Basic, or Intermediate Algebra courses.
Instructional workload: 24 contact hours per year; courses typically 3–4 contact hours. Includes departmental service such as course coordination or stewardship of departmental initiatives. Faculty are expected to demonstrate ongoing professional development through scholarly endeavors and engagement with the college teaching community.
Specific needs:
- One position focuses on instruction and coordination of Introductory Statistics courses.
- Second position focuses on instruction and course development in Basic and Intermediate Algebra courses.
Salary range: $55,000 – $60,000, commensurate with experience.
