Caliday School Age Teacher.

Assist the Program Director in the operations of a before and after care program for school‑age children. Implement activities that uphold Caliday’s mission, vision, and values and ensure children are provided with a safe, learning environment. Provide support and direction to the teacher assistant.
Essential Functions- Manage the program space, ensuring compliance with all MSDE‑OCC regulations, company standards, policies, and procedures.
- Provide a welcoming and friendly environment for all children, parents and visitors.
- Implement age‑appropriate and stimulating activities in accordance with the Caliday curriculum and manage effective classroom management.
- Assist and supervise children during all activities; counsel children as needed using Conscious Discipline and appropriate behavior‑management techniques.
- Communicate effectively with parents, greeting by name, addressing concerns in a timely manner, giving positive feedback, and providing regular updates on program happenings.
- Maintain open and effective communication with the team, parents, and school community.
- Ensure appearance, cleanliness, and safety of the classroom environment are appropriately maintained.
- Identify opportunities and/or problems in the program and work with other team members to resolve them.
- Maintain yearly certification requirements, including Continuing Education Credits.
Education/Experience
:
The ideal candidate will have an AA or bachelor’s degree (or credit equivalent) in Elementary Education, Psychology, Child Development, Family Studies or a similar discipline OR 45 clock hours in Child Development, birth through school‑age, and 45 clock hours in Curriculum for School‑Age Care. The ideal candidate will also have 9 clock hours of training in communicating with staff, parents, and the public, CPR and First Aid training certificate, Basic Health and Safety training certificate, and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) training certificate.
Candidates are required to have 400 hours of experience working with school‑age children in a professional environment.
