Assistant Teaching Professor (2 Positions)
Two full‑time, 9‑month, renewable (1‑3 year) contracts are open in the Department of Biological Sciences. Preferred start dates:
August 2026 (position
1) and January 2027 (position
2).
- Master’s or doctoral degree in Biology, Biomedical Sciences, Physiology, or equivalent.
- Commitment to excellence and innovation in teaching.
The instructional workload is 24 contact hours per academic year (Fall/Spring). Typical courses are 3 or 4 contact hours per semester. Duties include advising biology majors and departmental service such as course coordination or responsibility for ongoing departmental initiatives. Teaching professors are expected to demonstrate ongoing professional development through scholarly endeavors and engagement with the college teaching community.
Specific Department Needs- Experience teaching human anatomy and physiology lecture/lab courses.
- Knowledge of undergraduate biology curricula.
- Experience advising biology students.
- Experience with or appreciation for high‑impact teaching practices.
- Experience teaching courses at the 100, 200, and higher levels.
