Instructional Designer
Full-Time – Towson, MD – In Person
Job Description / Responsibilities:
- Apply adult learning theories and instructional design methodology to research, recommend, produce and edit training materials for a variety of delivery methods, including e-learning, instructor-led, and blended learning
- Participate in the design and development of role-, and competency- specific curriculum design documents
- Interact with Subject Matter Experts in planning and scoping requirements for curriculum and document meeting minutes
- Function as part of the curriculum team and independently in the design, development, and testing of instructional materials
- Review new and revised curriculum offerings from other team members, providing feedback and suggestions for improvement; contributes to new curriculum and/or program ideas
- Contribute to storyboarding, authoring, and development of e-learning content and blended learning solutions. Reviews and confirms learning objectives throughout the courseware development and piloting processes.
- Stay current on emerging adaptive learning technologies
- Develop assessments, tests, quizzes, surveys and evaluations for each course
- Work within a training team with Subject Matter Experts in the planning, development, and execution of annual training events. Some travel is required.
- Research hotels and event vendors, review vendor contacts and invoices for accuracy
- Provide reports to management on training progression, completion, usage, and ILT completions
- Work in the Learning Management Software to upload, manage, and provide reports for course content.
- Assist with Power Bi reports
- Design and develop supporting learning aides for print, classroom, and on-the-job training materials
- Reviewing other team members training materials for quality control
- Adhering to all branding and communication requirements
Travel:
- Requires up to 5 weeks of travel to facilitate training events.
Required Skills:
- B.S. degree in instructional design, education, business, marketing, communications, graphic design, hospitality, or equivalent experience
- Excellence interpersonal, writing, and communication skills
- Experience developing e-learning, instructor-led programs, blended learning programs, and asynchronous learning content
- Foundational knowledge and understanding of learning theory and instructional design techniques
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, particularly as used in the development of instructional content
- Experience with course authoring tools (Articulate, Adobe Creative Cloud Suite), graphic development tools (such as Adobe Photoshop) and video editing (Camtasia, Premier)
- Highly self-motivated and self-managed; ability to work independently and as part of a team with minimal coaching or supervision
- Ability to organize and work under strict time and production deadlines, while producing quality deliverables

Salary Range: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00
