Adjunct Faculty, Medical Laboratory Science
Engage in teaching activities in accordance with the University’s faculty workload policies. Teaching responsibilities will include teaching courses in the Medical Laboratory Science Program in the Beverly K. Fine School of the Sciences.
Education and ExperienceMaster’s degree and ASCP certification in Medical Laboratory Science, or a Bachelor’s degree and ASCP certification in Medical Laboratory Science with teaching experience. Master’s degree with ASCP certification or an equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities- Knowledge of instrumentation in the medical laboratory.
- Demonstrated teaching ability in medical laboratory content areas.
- Ability to instruct students with varying preparation and abilities.
- Excellent interpersonal and cultural competency skills.

- Proficiency in Microsoft applications.

Light work:
Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, sitting, standing, walking, and repetitive motions. Requires close visual acuity. Affiliated with science laboratories and exposure to chemicals, biologicals, and equipment.
- Engage in instructional activity totaling no more than 18 contact hours per academic year, with no more than 9 contact hours per semester.
- Teaching responsibilities include classroom, laboratory, hybrid, or online courses, plus preparation, maintaining competence, preparing materials, conferring with students, grading, and providing accommodations for students with disabilities.
- Write syllabi, respond to emails promptly, grade coursework, submit grades, attendance, and academic alerts on time, and notify appropriate personnel of student problems.
- Respond to student feedback and complete required training or professional development.
- Maintain collegiality, professional conduct, and ethical principles with faculty, students, and staff.
- Follow faculty and program policies as outlined by the School and University.
- Teaching assignments may require day, evening, online, or hybrid classes.
- Meet scheduled class times during the requested dates and times.
Anticipated salary: $1,191–$1,389 per credit/contact hour (subject to minimum enrollment).
