The College of Liberal Arts invites applications for an Assistant Professor position in the Political Science Department. Preferred start date August 2027. Applicants with a Ph.D. in hand will receive preference, although ABDs may be considered if the degree will be completed by the end of Spring 2027.

Responsibilities:

• Areas of Specialization:
  Constitutional Law, Judicial Politics, Homeland Security
• The Department of Political Science invites applications for a tenure-track, 9-month position in Political Science with an emphasis in Constitutional Law. The position entails teaching a general undergraduate survey course on Law and Politics, upper-division courses in Constitutional Law and Judicial Politics, and a graduate course in Homeland Security and Constitutional Rights. The individual appointed will have the opportunity to develop future course offerings.
• Successful applicants will demonstrate both a commitment to teaching excellence and strong potential for a productive scholarly program. As the university nears the attainment of Carnegie's R2 status, candidates should also prioritize grant-funded research. Additional responsibilities include advising students in the major and minor, and service to the department, college, and university. Candidates must be sensitive to the needs of, and possess an interest in working with, a diverse student body.
  
  They should also consider how they would address the university's mission, strategic plan, and Presidential Priorities.

Salary and Benefits:
Targeted salary range: $70,000 - $75,000 commensurate with experience. Benefits: TU offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes excellent health, life and retirement plans; and tuition remission.
