Coherent Technical Services, Inc. (CTSi) is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support the design, development, documentation, and production of mechanical and electromechanical systems. This role requires interaction with customers, internal engineering teams, and manufacturing organizations supporting DoD and aerospace programs.
Key Responsibilities- Develop, maintain, and produce technical documentation and system and subsystem specifications.
- Interface with customers during design reviews, technical working groups, and test activities.
- Conduct site visits, investigations, and engineering analyses; propose solutions and alternatives.
- Interpret military drawing standards, specifications, and government procurement processes.
- Prepare test procedures, Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), and technical reports.
- Prepare conceptual and preliminary designs and system layouts.
- Apply reverse engineering and reengineering disciplines to develop innovative designs.
- Machine shop prototyping and small-scale production experience.
- Experience with CAM, CNC milling, and sheet metal fabrication design.
- Support production, construction, maintenance, and operation of engineered systems.
- Perform and/or review design analysis and Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
- Conduct structural, thermal, and mechanical failure mode assessments.
- Solid Works required; CREO / Inventor and AutoCAD a plus.
- Familiarity with NAVAIR and NAWCAD processes and procedures.
- Knowledge of military standards and government engineering documentation requirements.
- Communicate effectively with engineers, technicians, management, and customers.
- Prepare technical, weekly, and program status reports.
- Work effectively in a diverse, team-oriented environment.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting schedule commitments.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field from an accredited institution.
- 2 – 5 years of specialized experience related to mechanical engineering duties.
- Must be eligible to obtain at a minimum U.S. Secret Clearance. Active clearance preferred.
