Pay or shift range: $28 USD to $33 USD. The estimated range is the budgeted amount for this position. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, location, qualifications and other job-related reasons.

Pritchard Industries is seeking a skilled and dedicated Building Engineer to join our team. The Building Engineer will be responsible for maintaining the operational functionality of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems, across a variety of commercial properties. This role requires strong technical expertise, diligence, and the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot system issues to ensure the efficient and safe operation of the facilities.
Responsibilities- Operate, monitor, and maintain in good working order and condition, the heating, ventilation, air conditioning, plumbing and electrical systems, and all other equipment related to the mechanical and electrical plant of the building.
- Operate, test, manage and maintain all property systems and equipment.
- Prepare, maintain, and regularly review logs for service, repair, operation, and complaints related to the equipment. Make recommendations on the proper care, procedure, and methods of operating the equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
- Develop and maintain a program for preventive maintenance of the mechanical/electrical equipment and critical site systems. Maintain equipment according to the recommendations of the equipment manufacturer and be responsible for communicating with the systems/equipment manufacturers to obtain necessary data and literature for development of written preventative maintenance procedures, operating instructions, schedules, etc.
- Comply with the Federal Occupational Safety and Health Act and all other applicable government rules and regulations. Keep Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and comply with all safety practices and procedures.
- Recommend, propose, and implement operational mode changes whenever feasible to affect maximum conservation. Implement the Demand Response load‑shedding program as tests and events are called.
- Maintain all areas containing building systems and equipment in neat, clean, and painted condition.
- Oversee any special maintenance, repairs or other work to the systems and equipment performed by others.
- Maintain and manage an ongoing comprehensive preventive maintenance program for all building systems and equipment.
- Monitor and evaluate the energy consumption of the property and recommend additions, replacements, enhancements or modifications to existing equipment or systems to maximize energy efficiency.
- Maintain a daily log of activities and operations. Keep records of equipment documents, preventive maintenance, major repairs, energy management and projects. Maintain records regarding any regulated programs such as asbestos maintenance, indoor air quality and refrigerant management.
- Perform or oversee any testing, inspection, registration or certification for the building equipment or systems.
- Make monthly written reports to the manager and perform an annual audit of the engineering operation and provide a written report of findings and recommendations.
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
- 5+ years of related work experience in operating commercial buildings.
- Experience with mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire life safety systems.
- Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
- Familiarity with automated building controls, preventive maintenance techniques and knowledge of pneumatic controls.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
