A. Morton Thomas and Associates, Inc. (AMT) is seeking a Traffic Analysis Engineer to join our Transportation Engineering team. Opportunities are available in Towson, MD;
Rockville, MD; or Raleigh, NC offices.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct traffic operational analysis utilizing various modeling tools.
  • Provide analytical support for the development of design solutions and operational improvements.
  • Perform crash data analysis and conduct safety studies for intersections and corridors.
  • Prepare summary tables, sketches, and exhibits to effectively communicate technical findings.
  • Author technical reports and prepare technical memoranda.
  • Tabulate, process, and prepare deliverables related to traffic data collection tasks.
  • Undertake on-site field investigations as necessary.
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively within a team environment.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE) with 3‑6 years of experience in traffic engineering.
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certification required;
    Professional Engineer (PE) or Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) is a plus.
  • Demonstrated understanding of traffic analysis concepts and experience with traffic model development.
  • Proficiency in using software such as Synchro/Sim Traffic/Warrants, SIDRA, and HCS.
  • Working knowledge of roadway design principles.
  • Familiarity with MUTCD, ITE, FHWA, and AASHTO manuals and procedures.
  • Experience with Micro Station and/or AutoCAD is considered a plus.
  • Strong communication, technical writing, and organizational skills.
  • A positive attitude and a willingness to work cooperatively with others.
