ESSENTIAL TASKS
- Reviews plans for new developments for compliance with County regulations pertaining to stormwater management, sediment and erosion control, road design and floodplain management.
- Generates and maintains records of the review process for new developments.
- Receives and responds to public inquiries, requests for service and complaints associated with areas of responsibility; provides information to residents affected by development projects; investigates citizen complaints related to stormwater, floodplain and sediment/erosion control problems in new developments.
- Coordinates project information and activities with other County departments, other local/state/federal agencies, as well as contractors, developers, engineers, land surveyors, architects, attorneys, environmental agencies/special interest groups, property owners, and other parties as necessary.
- Compiles data for and prepares a variety of reports as required by the department, County and/or regulatory agencies.
- Performs general clerical/administrative work as required, including but not limited to preparing reports and correspondence, attending meetings, entering and retrieving computer data, preparing spreadsheets, copying and filing documents, answering the telephone, etc.
- Attends meetings, training, conferences, seminars, etc., as appropriate to enhance job knowledge and skills.
Prefer a Bachelor’s degree or education and training equivalent to four years of college education in civil engineering or a closely related field.
SPECIAL CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES- Valid state driver’s license.
- DHEC Stormwater Plan Reviewer certification or South Carolina Registered Professional Engineers license.
- Registered Professional Engineer (PE) designation is desirable.
Requires over four years and up to and including eight years.
COMPENSATIONMinimum: $21.70.
