Hotel Chief Engineer

Join our team at the "newly" renovated Sheraton Baltimore North as our Chief Engineer. The Hotel Chief Engineer directs all facilities maintenance, engineering operations, and life-safety systems. They are responsible for keeping the physical property safe, comfortable, and efficient.

• Oversee the repair and upkeep of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, refrigeration, and life-safety systems.
• Implement and manage Preventive Maintenance (PM) programs using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to reduce breakdowns and prolong asset life.
• Recruit, train, and schedule engineering technicians. Assign daily work orders and evaluate team performance.
• Ensure all building codes, brand standards, and OSHA regulations are strictly followed. Conduct routine safety audits and fire/life-safety inspections.
• Monitor utility consumption and track department expenses. Review proposals and manage relationships with external contractors.
• Collaborate with Housekeeping and Front Desk teams to resolve room maintenance issues promptly.

• Typically requires 3-5 years of progressive engineering or facilities management experience, ideally in the hospitality sector.
• Working proficiency in commercial HVAC, high/low voltage electrical systems, plumbing, and building automation controls.
• Preferred certifications:
  Certified Engineering Operations Executive (CEOE) through the AHLEI or HVAC/EPA certifications.
